What exactly is kapok?

Kapok is a natural fiber from rainforest seed pods. It's 8x lighter than cotton and naturally resists moisture, dust mites, and bacteria. No chemical treatments needed.

Why can't I machine wash this?

Kapok fiber needs to stay dry to keep its loft. But the cotton cover is removable and machine washable — that's the layer touching your face. Air the pillow itself in sunlight; UV naturally kills bacteria.

Is kapok better than memory foam?

Kapok is more breathable and natural than memory foam. It feels lighter and less “dense,” while memory foam can offgas and retain heat.

Will a kapok pillow sleep hot?
